I am not optimistic nor pessimistic about technology, but I guess a little on both sides. Technology is getting more advanced throughout the years and it is helping us in many ways but on the other hand it is also causing us to depend more on it rather then other things. Whereas, on the other hand I am pessimistic about robotics, I do not like the fact that in the future they might start doing things that humans would normally do, such as certain jobs.
Ray Kurweil in The Singularity Is Near seems to be an optimistic person about the new developments in robitics. I cannot really agree with him on that, but I do see his point as to why he is optimistic. He states that "Artificial intelligence at human levels will necessarily greatly exceed human intelligence for several reasons" (Kurweil 138). You can see by this quote that in the future robotics will get very advanced to the point where they might even take over humans in some things. because as Kurweil said they will become very intelligent. Many might agree with Kurweil but I do not. I think that once rotoics get more advanced they will start to take over a lot of things which will kind of replace humans. I guess you can say I am more of a humanities person then science.
